What is Firefox history?
As you surf the Internet, Firefox stores information about the web sites you visited, information you entered on web sites, what you downloaded etc. Usually, it is helpful to store this information as it can improve your web browsing speed, helps to automatically suggest information you have typed before, so you don't have to type it again, etc. But it can also seriously compromise your security and privacy, as anyone who has access to your computer can see what web sites you visited and what information you entered on web pages. Firefox stores the following Internet history tracks:
Browsing history
Download history
Saved form information - information that you've entered on web sites
Search history
Cache
Cookies
Saved Passwords
You can erase Firefox Internet history manually or using special software.

Saved forms information (Autocomplete History)
When you enter information in web forms (for example your name, e-mail address, credit card information, etc) or the search bar (keywords you enter in search engines, etc.) that information is saved and Firefox can give suggestions when you enter information in forms in the future. Saved form information (AutoComplete) helps you complete forms by suggesting possible matches - you can simply press the down arrow key and select the text without finishing typing.
While AutoComplete feature may be helpful for some things, it can also seriously compromise your security and privacy, as anyone who has access to your computer can see what web sites you visited and what information you entered on web pages. Also various malicious software can use Saved form information to steal your personal information such as your name, e-mail address, credit card information and/or retrieve web sites passwords stored as autocomplete data.
