Question of the Day

• How can I erase cookies in Internet Explorer?

Web sites can store short pieces of information on your computer called "cookies". Cookies are created in order to recognize users when they return to a website to offer customized content to the certain user. However, cookies can threat to your privacy as they can store sensitive information like your name and password on protected login pages, preferences, account information and choices you have made on the site. So, even if you erase browser history, cookies like a map will show your surfing preferences, habits, passwords, etc. Even if the cookies don't contain such information they clearly show that you visited the sites from which they came.
To erase cookies in Internet Explorer 7.0:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "General" tab.
• In "Browsing history" area click the "Delete" button.
• In "Delete browsing history" window click "Delete cookies" button and then click "Yes".
• Click Close and then click OK.
To erase cookies in Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "General" tab.
• Click the "Delete cookies" button.
• Click OK.
Note: In Internet Explorer even if you erase cookies manually, cookies index.dat file stores Internet surfing information. This file can't be deleted manually as it is used by Windows all the time.

Erase Mozilla history

What is Mozilla history?

As you surf the Internet, Mozilla stores information about the web sites you visited, information you entered on web sites, etc. Usually, it is helpful to store this information as it can improve your web browsing speed, helps to automatically suggest information you have typed before, so you don't have to type it again, etc. But it can also seriously compromise your security and privacy, as anyone who has access to your computer can see what web sites you visited and what information you entered on web pages.
Mozilla stores the following Internet history tracks:
List of web sites you have visited (browsing history)
List of web sites you have visited stored in Location manu (web addresses from the Address bar)
Form AutoComplete data (Saved form data) - information that you've entered on web sites
Search history
