Question of the Day
How can I erase Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer?
Internet Explorer stores the content of all the web pages you have visited (including pictures, animation, movies, other downloads, etc) during a session. Browser saves web pages, images from visited web sites into your hard drive whether you click on them or not. This speeds up the displaying of pages you frequently visit as a web browser can open them from your hard disk instead of downloading them from the web. But it can seriously compromise your privacy because anyone who can use your PC can tell where you have been on the web. To erase Temporary Internet File in Internet Explorer 7.0: Select "Tools" Select "Internet Options". Open the "General" tab. In "Browsing history" area click the "Delete" button. In "Delete browsing history" window click "Delete files" Then click Yes, and then click Close. To erase Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x Open the Tools menu. Select Internet Options. Open the General tab. In the "Temporary Internet files" area click the "Delete Files" button. Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box. Click OK. Note: in Internet Explorer even if you erase Temporary Internet Files manually, index.dat file stores information which can show where you have been online. This file can't be deleted manually as it is used by Windows all the time.
