Erase search history

Your browser stores information about visited websites, information you have typed into web forms (it could be personal information, recent searches), files you have downloaded, etc. This information is used to provide more convenient web browsing by quickly retrieving the necessary data - as you start typing a new website address or search query, your browser displays a list of recently visited websites, recent searches, etc.
Although these history tracks make your web browsing easier and faster, they could reveal sensitive information you may want to keep private. It could be critical, especially when working on a shared computer.
If you are concerned about privacy, you should regularly erase search history, browsing history, cache, cookies and other history files stored by your browser and Windows. Fortunately, deleting search history is really simple as most web browsers provide an easy way to delete history files in a few mouse clicks as well as to prevent your browser from storing history tracks.

Clear All History lets you erase search history stored by your browser and Windows in seconds. The program supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, MSN Explorer, AOL Explorer, Opera, Netscape, Mozilla and Maxthon

Why you should erase search history

Your browser records every search string you enter in search engines. When you start typing a new search query, your browser displays a list of recent searches that can be a privacy issue if you are using a public computer and you do not want other users to know what you have searched.
Search history is stored on your computer because of a feature called Autocomplete that stores a list of everything you search while surfing the Internet and helps you complete search boxes by suggesting possible search matches. So deleting saved form data (autocomplete history) will clear search history stored by your browser.

• How do find and view Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer?

Temporary Internet Files, also known as the browser cache are files that are stored on your computer by Internet browser. Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains web page content that is stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. This cache permits Internet browsers to download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a web page, instead of downloading all the content for a page every time it is displayed - so, the purpose of Temporary Internet Files is to speed up the loading of websites that you visit frequently by keeping copies of the web pages and graphics on your computer.
To find and view Temporary Internet Files
• Click the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
• The Internet Options dialog window will appear.
• In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the "Settings..." button.
• In the "Settings" window, click the "View Files..." button. The new window displays all of the Temporary Internet Files stored on the computer and their location on the local hard drive. The window also displays the URL each temporary file came from.
